This is an example of chromatography. I used two pieces of filter paper: one with a smilie face drawn in black Mr. Sketch and a hole poked in it, and the other rolled up and inserted through the hole. When placed in water, the water moved up through the rolled paper into the one with the design, causing the colors to separate. Due to the characteristics of Mr. Sketch, the colors separated into red and blue! #ChemistryFun 😄🔬 #CubNation

Ms. Juelfs Algebra students got some thinking done on day 1. They were able to finger out how the pirate captain gets to keep the GAINT Diamond. They all learned how to “pick up sticks”. If you have a student in Algebra 1 please ask them about these problems. #CubNation Go Cubs!
